August 4th, 2009My Dream Party
Anybody that knows me knows that I love to entertain and have company over as often as possible. Parties are just something that make me and my family happy, and we really take joy in showing others a good time. However, while we do a lot of entertaining at our home, it’s not the largest house in the neighborhood, and we don’t have a very big back yard at all. So, when it comes to really big bashes we like to head out to a local park or event center.
Anyhow, my favorite kind of party to throw has always been a Halloween party. I guess that’s because October is kind of a dark, cold time of year around here and so having Halloween festivities to look forward to makes it just a little bit better for all of us. Lately, I have been considering what my dream Halloween party would involve, and I have come up with some serious plans that I hope I can see come into fruition one of these years.
First, we would host the party at my parent’s house as they live on a huge piece of acreage that is out in the country. While their property is in the country, it’s thankfully not too far out which means my city dwelling friends should have no problem getting there. The ultimate Halloween party for me would start during the day time, where the kids could enjoy pumpkin carving outdoors, as well as partake in hay bale rides. Of course there would be all the traditional fun events like apple bobbing and maybe even a three legged race.
The real fun for me would be in the food preparation and decorations as I have found some excellent festive food ideas at the Celebrations.com website that I would just love to implement. The food won’t necessarily be Halloween themed, however the desserts no doubt will be, as I know the kids love to have some unique treats to enjoy.
I found a lot of great ideas for all kinds of parties on the Celebrations.com website, so if you also love to party then you should check it out. They have an especially good selection of birthday party ideas, so if you’re seeking to host a special birthday make sure to read the neat ideas on their website!
