Rumors of an Apple Netbook release is buzzing all over the internet today, with sources from the Dow Jones Newswire apparently confirming the production of said netbook.
It’s claimed that before the end of the year Apple plans to release a netbook, perhaps even just in time for the Christmas rush (Apple is pretty smart about these things, so such a release time frame wouldn’t surprise me in the least). It’s also speculated that the netbook will include a touchscreen, with a display area ranging between nine and ten inches.
Of course, Apple hasn’t confirmed or denied the production at this point, but I for one will be keeping my fingers crossed on the netbook’s validity.
Western Michigan prosecutors filed money laundering and fraud lawsuit involving a man, 23 years of age, for acquiring iPod Shuffle music players, reaching more than 9,000 in number. Prosecutors of the federal government are saying that Nicholas Woodhams randomly entered serial numbers into the Apple website to receive replacement products for purportedly iPods that were defective. He then reconstructed them on his own. The government claims Woodhams went and sold 1000s of the these for $49 per Shuffle. Randall Levine, Woodhams’ lawyer, stated that Randall is talking to authorities and “negotiating a resolution” with the prosecution.
Personally I think that scammers of this nature are not always out for simple financial gain, but also have an abundance of time on their hands that should be focused elsewhere. I say this because for the time and energy spent into creating these fake ipods, if he had simply worked hard at an occupation or schooling then he would have also made a lot of money, and it wouldn’t be at risk due to broken laws and fraudulent activity. Perhaps this young man could benefit from a new hobby, maybe he could purchase a Escrima Stick and do some karate? It sure would be better for his body and mind than the path he is currently on!
